Sarahs Hair Extensions Review 29/1/14

Once I got my hair silver I thought i'd treat myself to some new extensions because my old ones were getting a bit gross, I've heard people talk about 'Sarahs Hair Extensions' so I thought i'd try them out. They weren't too pricey and I got a 16% discount with free delivery because I follow them on Facebook. They came two days after I ordered them and when I opened them I was really happy with how they were. I obviously had to tone them because my hairs silver and I got them in Bleach Blonde. I used the PRO:VOKE Touch of silver - Twice a week brightening shampoo on them for 5 minutes and they turned silver, usually I get worried with hair extensions because they are virgin hair so the colours will take straight away but they came out just right. once I was looking closely at them I saw that some of the stitching of the clips and the tracks were quite bad. Not on every extension. I know I didn't pay much for them but I expect them to still be good quality. I was very disappointed.
The extensions are also quite thick at the top (what is good) but at the bottom they're quite thin. I'm not sure if that's because I have thick hair but I got the full head with 8 Pieces so I thought it'd be thick. There are also a few with double wefts that I didn't expect so I was happy about that.
I've only had the extensions a few days so I'm hoping they last me a while, I don't use heat much and if I do I use a low setting to give them a bit of curl to make them look thicker. I paid £39.09 for them with the discount, I got the 16 inch Bleach Blonde full head set. Without the discount they would have been £45.99
Personally for the extensions I think that is too much money. I don't know if I got a crappy set but I'll have to sort the clips/wefts out because in time they'll fall apart. I'd only suggest buying them if there's a discount.
They are also too thin for my hair, you can see where my ends stop with them so I'll have to pay more money for another half a head of extensions that I didn't want to do.

Overall I think the extensions are good but they could be a lot better! If they were thicker at the ends and were made a bit less sloppy they'd be perfect for the price! I can't complain a lot because you would have to fork out at least £70-80 for good extensions. Like they say you pay for quality.

Bleach London - Washing Out Liquid Review 29/1/14

Okay so, I heard people talk about this new product from Bleach London, it basically strips colour from your hair faster than just washing it out. For people like me who dye their hair 24/7 it is a godsend. I wanted to try it out on some extensions I got because I used the Bleach London's Silver Shampoo on them and I left it too long and it dyed them purple. So I thought why not, it's only a fiver from Boots. Normally you would have to buy strip sets that would more than likely damage your hair.
It's so simple to use, once I opened it I thought it'd stink, but I was pleasantly surprised! it smelt gorgeous (like all Bleach London products)
All you have to do is get a bit in your hands like you would shampoo and rub it into them. After you just wash it out, I was so surprised with how much came out from just being washed straight off. Obviously it's not a miracle worker and it's not going to strip ALL the colour out but for 2 seconds of it being on I was happy with the result.

This is the result of the colour change, it's not done much but it's a lot more lilac than purple now. I'm sure with a few more uses the colour will be gone. Overall I am happy with how it came out. My extensions are a little bit dry but I was expecting it, with a good treatment they'll be back to new.

How to get silver hair 19/01/14

I've wanted to go back to silver for a long time so I just thought i'd go for it! I thought it'd actually be difficult and really damaging to my hair but it wasn't as bad as I thought. When I was ginger I dyed my hair with Tangerine by Directions and diluted the hell out of it with some cheap conditioner. I only dyed it once every 2 weeks or so because I didn't mind the colour it faded too, the colour it usually faded too was a gingery blonde anyway so I knew it wouldn't be that hard to get lighter. This is the process I did, enjoy!

I used the Nutrisse Truly Blonde, Lightens up to 4-6 tones. I did my roots first because they were about an inch long, then after that I just toned my hair with Bleach London's Silver Shampoo, as you can see it really did take the orangeness away from my hair. In person it actually looked quite ashy. I was abit worried about using Bleach London's silver shampoo because i've never used it before but i'm actually quite impressed for saying I didn't bleach the ends at all.

After I bleached the rest of my hair with the same Nutrisse box set I used for my roots it came out rather yellow so I thought i'd experiment with a few dyes I had left over, I put alot of conditioner in a bowl and mixed it with a tiny bit of Lavender dye from Directions and then I put the smallest amount of Black hair dye from Crazy Colour to add some grey tones (you can't tell by the picture) so it would be abit purple. I smothered this on my hair and left it on for half an hour, the colour was so much more ashy but it wasn't the colour I wanted. Once I washed it out I used the PRO:VOKE Touch Of Silver, Twice a week brightening shampoo for 5 minutes. I highly recommend this toner! I used it last year when I was silver before and it's the best toner i've used. Normally i'd smother my hair in it and leave it for half an hour but because of what I did before I didn't feel the need.

After I did all that this was the result! I'm so happy with how it's came out and how my hair isn't damaged at all. Yes, it'd abit dry but that's easily fixable with a good treatment. In some light my hair still has hints of ginger, but i'm not too bothered because I know how hard ginger is to get rid off and in a few weeks when I do my roots i'll go over the gingery bits to get rid. I hope this helps!

Hair Care & My Hair Experience 12/01/14

I get asked so much about my hair and my experiences with different shampoos/conditioners/products etc etc so I might as well do a post about it to stop all the questions!
When I left school two years ago my hair was in such bad condition, it was like elastic from constant dying and heat (with no heat protect) because to be honest, I had no clue about products and what my hair needed. Even when I showered i'd get clumps of hair in my hands and all my split ends would just snap out so imagine brushing it! it just all broke off. I pushed myself through the salon doors and I knew that they were going to cut it allllll off. And they did. in a way i'm happy they did! but back then I was devastated. The length before it got cut was past my collar bones then when I came out it was just under my ear. I think the change just shocked me so much and I had no confidence whatsoever. I couldn't even tie it up because it was so short. The next day I made my mum buy me extensions because I just couldn't go out looking the way I did. I didn't even care about the health of it.
Ever since then i've just been letting it grow with the occasional haircut. But I get bored of my hair so easily, I just like to play around with different colours and styles. It's been two years later and my hairs just about fixed, I've bleached and dyed it since but nowhere near as much as I did before. My hairs just below my collar bones again but I wear extensions because they just give me the confidence I need.

This is what my hair looked like before it got chopped off, you can see just by how the colour fades from my hair how bad condition it was, I mean the ends look like straw. It probably was the best decision i've made.

I use alot of products and different types of conditioners to keep it healthy. I always buy the Aussie's but only when they're 3 for 2 because the offer is amazing. They also last so long, It depends on what my mood is  to how long they stay on, I know some only say 3-5 minutes but only you know your hair and if you want to leave it on for half an hour or even an hour it's not going to kill your hair is it? It all depends on how your hair feels like if it needs a deep treatment or not. I absolutely love Aussie though, not too expensive and they're the only conditioners that I see results for.

For Christmas I got the Evo shampoo and conditioner. I cannot describe how good they are! They're alot more expensive than a normal shampoo and conditioner but you can really see the difference. The conditioner leaves your hair so soft and silky. I only use them once a month to treat my hair but you can use them as everyday use. I want to try and save them for as long as I can because i'm so tight with my money that spending over a fiver on shampoos and conditioners is ridiculous to me but I think when these run out i'll treat myself.

The only other conditioner I use is my diluted hair dye, I only use it once a week for half an hour each time. I just buy Directions and mix it with a ton on conditioner from tesco. Not much I can say about it really.

These are all the products I use on my hair after I wash it. I use:

Aussie, Take the heat heat protection
 Aussie Miracle Recharge Moisture
Lee Stafford, Leave in hair growth treatment
IC Hair polisher

They're all amazing products to use, I use them all of towel-dried hair apart from the Hair polisher. I just put abit on my fingers once its dried to give it a shiny effect.

This is what my hair looks like now, for me it's the best condition it's been in for years! I can run my fingers through it without having to fight through clumps of hair, I only dye it with directions so it isn't harmful. And I leave my roots for as long as I can, as you can see (cry) but i'm quite proud of myself for not fucking it up again.

OOTD 11/01/14

Lace crop top: Ark
Tartan skirt: Ark
Tattoo choker: Ebay
Rings: Primark
Crystal necklace: Delilah Dust
Casio gold vintage watch: Ebay
Old school Lady and Gent plugs: Uk custom plugs
JAGG patent chunky loafers: Topshop
Nails in spilled milk: Topshop

I love this outfit all put together, it still gives the winter feel with the tartan skirt, but i've added a bit more flesh. I've also put my loafers on to make it look more dressy and accesorized it with some jewellery and curled my hair. I do love this look but because its winter you do get a bit nippy so if I went out i'd shove some tights on and a thick coat and scarf to keep myself warm.
